I created this blog (I use the term ‘created’ quite loosely) in order to chronicle my running journey to marathondom. I have envisioned it being both a running log and more of a journal, in which I can vent about the bad runs, celebrate the good runs, and in general keep up with what an up and down experience this is.
I’m 24 years old, married, and in seminary. I started running in college with my then-boyfriend/now-husband. He was training for a marathon, I was training for a 5k. Along the way, I got up to running 10 miles or so, lost lots of weight, and generally felt great. After we got married though, I got food poisoning and recovered only to find that I could barely walk a mile. Things have been pretty much downhill from there. And I mean downhill in a bad way.
It’s been two and a half years since then. I have gained and lost 30 + pounds and I’m ready to get at it again. Tim (my husband) and I have planned to run my first-ever marathon in March here in Atlanta. Before that, I’ll be running a 5k (December), a 10k (January), and a half marathon (February). You should know that I am not a natural runner. I am not even an ok runner. I am a terrible runner who does it anyway.
I would love to write in here every day, but unfortunately I have to do the school thing too. So hopefully I can be more faithful after midterms.
